Filter Your Data

Apply filters in a lens to unclutter your chart and focus on the subset of data that’s most relevant for your business unit, project, or management team.
Available in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.
Available for an extra cost in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions. Also available in Developer Edition.

For example, limit the view of cities in sales territories to those with a substantial number of accounts.

  1. While viewing data in a lens, tap Explore Explore | Filter Filter | + Filter.
  2. Choose a dimension, date, or measure. If necessary, use the search box to find the one that you need.
    The dimensions, dates, and measures in your dataset determine how you can filter your data.
    Filter Operator (Data Type) How to Configure
    Equal To/Not Equal To (Dimension) Equal To Button Not Equal To Button Tap the Equal To/Not Equal To button to toggle it. Optionally, pull down to access the search box. Tap the items you want to select (Green Checkmark), and then tap Done
    Contains (Dimension) Contains Button Pull down to access the text box. Enter at least two characters and tap those characters where they appear below Contains. A checkmark (Green Checkmark) appears and Contains is selected. Then tap Done.
    Absolute or Relative Dates (Date) Relative Date Toggle Absolute | Relative, and select start and end dates.
    Equal To/Not Equal To (Measure) Equal To Operator Not Equal To Operator Move one handle onto the other. Tap the handle to toggle between Equal To and Not Equal To. Slide the handle, or tap the number to open the keyboard for entering a different number.
    Between (Measure) Between Operator Slide the handles, or tap the numbers to open the keyboard for entering numbers. If there’s only one handle, tap the line to replace a handle.
    Greater Than/Greater Than Or Equal To (Measure) Greater Than Operator Greater Than or Equal To Operator Pull one handle off the line. Slide the remaining handle, or tap the number to open the keyboard for entering a different number. Tap the handle to toggle between Greater Than and Greater Than Or Equal To.
    Less Than/Less Than Or Equal To (Measure) Less Than Operator Less Than or Equal To Operator Pull one handle off the line. Slide the remaining handle, or tap the number to open the keyboard for entering a different number. Tap the handle to toggle between Less Than and Less Than Or Equal To.
    The visualization in your lens changes to show the data through the filter you created.
